Mountain Dwarf Rogue (Thief)
“I’ll tell ya lad, this is a messy business for real dwarfs, do you think that you can handle it?”
Last words of Moryak Blademane before a drinking contest with an Orog.
Born and raised in Mithral Hall, Moryak since childhood was a troublesome dwarf. After reaching adulthood his unruly behavior won him a ban from his birthplace, after a fight with a guard and an attempted murder afterward.
Young Moryak started wandering the North doing this and that, never really at ease in any place. He joined a mercenary company but discipline was not meant for him. After a fashion decided to move south and headed to Neverwinter, when he found job as a smith. His craft was decent and after all humans do not know shit about proper smithing anyway.
Then one day, by chance, knocked out a petty thief who was trying to lift a sword in his master’s shop. He turned the culprit in, only to find out that a small bounty was on his head. He thought about the matter for a few minutes and then left his job and started a shining career in the bounty hunting business. Or that was the plan in his head. He had to struggle for many months before starting to actually make money out of it, not only bumps and bruises.
The competition was savage in the City of Skilled Hands, but Moryak piece by piece assembled his reputation, his expertise and also somehow his fame. For many years the dwarf chased through the streets murderers, heretics, insurrectionists and many more, only a step away from the morale and demeanor of those who he hunted.
But the higher you climb the harder you fall; and then also Moryak ruinously fell.
They drugged him with a deceit and placed some evidence on him about a gruesome murder. Moryak woke up in a dirty alley, the heart of an old priest of Oghma in his hand, the guards already approaching. The only option was running away, hiding in the underbelly of the city that betrayed him.
In the following days, the crime exposed, the name of Moryak Blademane was on every mouth. Evil cabalist, deranged cultist and many more were his monikers. Moryak was really furious; demon-worshipping was not among his many despicable deeds! Since then is a dwarf on the run, fouling his former companions, knowing their tactics and tricks, trying to escape the gallows.
Recently he decided to escape in the Underdark, where he believes other bounty hunters would not dare to follow. Time will tell if he is horribly wrong…
